Joshua 1:2 “Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.”
What is real faith? We are told to live by faith. (2 Corinthians 5:7). We are told that faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1) However, what is the difference between faith and human desire?
Faith is the ability to believe God and not our own emotions. Jeremiah tells us that our hearts are deceitful and wicked. We can at times dream up our own prayers but wishful thinking is not faith. Faith looks to God and God alone. Jesus said in Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.” The ability to believe before you see is the evidence of faith. Therefore, as you pray today, pray in faith knowing that as you spend time with God, He hears your prayers and the answer is already here. At this time God may say yes, He may say no, He will probably say wait and then as you pray He will change your heart to say, “Oh Father, it is not my will but your will be done.”
